Today, Friday, 1st of September 2017, approximately 80 students from National Learning Network (NLN) in Sligo graduated from a range of courses at a certification ceremony held in the Sligo Park Hotel, Dublin Road in Sligo.
The ceremony was well attended by students of National Learning Network, both past and present, and their families and friends. Representatives from Mayo Sligo Leitrim Education and Training Board, and the HSE: Training and Occupational Support Services and Learning Disability Service also attended the event. Many local public representatives attended including the guest of honour Mayor Keaney and Deputy McLoughlin and Deputy Scanlon.
Mayor Keaney said “Today we have 80 learners who completed a range of training programmes that provides them with skills to enter the labour market or progress into further education. This day is an important milestone in your life, so enjoy the occasion, but more importantly take pride in your achievements”.
Speaking at the event Peter Egan the Director of Further Education and Training said “The programmes offered here in the NLN are an important part of a large portfolio of highly innovative courses offered by MSLETB. In 2017 we have a whole range of exciting new courses on offer e.g. we have recently been involved in the development of new generation apprenticeship proposal and today I can announce that we have lead out nationally on new apprenticeships in Professional Associate Sales Professional and an apprenticeship in Early Childhood Education and Care. These we hope will supplement exciting new apprenticeships in butchery, chef, insurance and IT. Important to talk to the guidance services with MSLETB or here with the NLN and check out the range of innovative courses available on www.fetchcourses .ie”.
