John Lonergan, the former Governor of Mountjoy prison, delivered an all engrossing talk on “Parenting: The Challenges and Rewards” to a packed audience in Corran College on Monday 9th November last. This was part of a series of events aimed at students and parents as part of Mental Health week in Corran College. John presented his “nuggets” of information in a very entertaining and engaging fashion that was enjoyable for all present.

His experience as an author, parent and transformative figure within the prison service put him in a very good position to raise the awareness levels of the audience in relation to the challenges facing them in raising their children in modern day Ireland.

Copies of his book “Parenting: Raising your Child in Ireland Today” were in big demand after the talk. He kindly stayed to talk to parents and sign copies of his book.
