A CPA Leaving Certificate student Catherine Gallagher has been shortlisted for the Best Youth Blog in this years Blog Awards Ireland 2015. This is a significant achievement for a blog that has been active for only one year. Finalists are selected by public vote and the awards ceremony to announce the winners will be held on Oct 22^nd. Catherine’s blog is called ‘Breathing Silver Linings’ and she offers a articles on current affairs, contemporary topics, album and book reviews as well as poetry and short stories.

Catherine Gallagher is a full time student, currently preparing for her Leaving Certificate exams to be sat June 2016. She has been maintaining her blog, “Breathing Silver Linings” since July 2014, where she publishes a wide range of her own freelance material. Catherine has been awarded and commended from various awards for her poetry and prose writing. She attends Scoil Acla, an annual writing course in her home of Achill alongside Macdara Woods and many other talented writers. She is eager to pursue a career in both writing and journalism combined. From an early age, Catherine has held a passion of writing, equality for all and the inclusion of youth in today’s society.
