The Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme in Ballina commenced in the Further Education Centre Ballina in 1991 and since then it has developed into a “Centre of Excellence” in the delivery of second chance Educational Opportunities in conjunction with QQI and Accounting Technicians Ireland, with emphasis on securing qualifications, progress to employment at course end or accelerated access to third level. It attracts students from all over Co Mayo and surrounding counties.
