 Annual Awards – Message from the CE

Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board seeks to encourage, promote and acknowledge excellence by recognising learners and staff for either group or individual achievements or projects.

On 26th of April 2016 Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board will host our first Annual Awards Ceremony. Applications are invited for projects/initiatives completed by staff and/or Students, Learners  and Trainees under the following categories.

Award Categories
Contribution to local community/society This award will be presented for the best initiative promoting the positive contribution to local community/society. The submission requires demonstrated evidence of initiative and the positive impact on the local community/society.
Creativity This award will be presented to the project that best illustrates creativity. Projects in this category may be of any nature. Submissions will require demonstrated evidence of the creativity process how this process impacted the final creation.
Health and Wellbeing This award will be presented for the best initiative promoting the positive benefits to a healthy lifestyle and/or wellbeing with demonstrated evidence of the positive outcomes following the implementation of the initiative.
Inclusive Project This award will be presented for the best initiative promoting Inclusivity. The submission will require demonstrated evidence of initiative and how the initiative impacted on those involved
Innovation and Entrepreneurship This award will be presented to the project that best illustrates ideas and innovation with a demonstration of entrepreneurial aptitude and spirit in overcoming obstacles and challenges en route to implementation of an innovative idea. Projects in this category may be of any nature whether social, commercial, scientific, artistic, technical or other.
Working smarter using Technology This award will be presented for the best initiative using technology to enhance teaching, learning or administration. The submission will require with demonstrated evidence of the positive impacted of implementing this initiative.

 

Submission of Projects
All projects are to be submitted digitally and emailed to AnnualAwards@msletb.ie
Closing date for receipt of submissions is 31st March 2017
Digital submissions may be presented in the following format

  • typed, word, pdf, powerpoint
  • graphic, jpeg etc
  • visual or digital, video
  • evidence, or any combination of these.
  • Any video or digital evidence must be provided in a suitable format.
The following information must be included with each submission

  • Name of School/Centre/College/Programme/Administration Office/Department
  • Official Title of Project
  • Name of Individual Participants and Name of Group
  • Contact details team leader and/or staff member involved
  • Award Category
Each project/initiative should make reference to the following

  • Description of Project
  • Timeframe
  • Learning Outcomes/Positive Outcomes
  • Stakeholders
  • Please acknowledge all those that helped in completion of the project/initiative
  • Three finalists in each category will be selected and invited to attend the ceremony
  • Projects which have received prior national recognition will not be considered for selection
